Chain Reaction: Detonator
=========================

This game is an entry for the 48 Hour Game Development Competition #10 Ludum Dare (http://www.ludumdare.com).
It requires Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP and DirectX 8. A sound card is highly recommended for high class
white noise sound effects.
You start this at your own risk. I take no responsibilities whatsoever if something happens to your PC.

The given theme:
----------------
Chain Reaction

The Gameplay:
-------------
Place bombs to either activate all diamond devices or move a target ball into a goal area (or both).

Only fixed time bombs can start the whole stage. You setup reaction bombs in between and hope that
the resulting chain reaction will do it's evil thing. You cannot modify any timing of the time bombs so you need to plan carefully.

Click on the detonator button to start the reaction. Click on the button again if things didn't work out.
You can modify your previous setup slightly (you'll need to) and try as often as you want to.

All the levels are solveable. I personally tried them until they worked.

The Editor:
-----------
The in built editor is pretty comfortable. Almost all keys are explained on the screen.

These are all the keys:

Left mouse button: Set current tile/object
Right mouse button: Pick up tile under cursor/remove object under cursor

1/2: Switch between levels
3/4: Modify the given number of bombs
5: Change the time for the starter time bombs
6: Change the number on the diamond devices

M: Toggle between tile and unit mode
N: Enter name mode, type the level name and press enter to leave it again
F2: Save the current level

Escape: Leave the editor.

Do not forget to put at least a diamond device or a target ball plus goal area!

The Sourcecode:
---------------
The full sourcecode plus a VS 2003 solution is included, so you can basically change the game as much as you want to.
If you do so then please be fair and

A) keep mentioning where you found the sourcecode and include a link to my homepage and
B) notify me if you intend to release a modified version.

The code itself isn't very clean and includes some ugly hacks, but that's the sake of time schedules.
